Cutting Room Conversations

  • ILCR

Institute member Will Eves will speak at “Cutting Room Conversations”, at the Byre Theatre on 24 February at 7pm (tickets available from www.byretheatre.com or from the box office on 01334475000)

‘Cutting Room Conversations’ dissects the themes, realities and (un)truths in various popular films. The feature on Thursday is Snyder’s 2009 adaptation of the ‘Watchmen’. The panellists are: Will Eves who works on medieval law and will question who watches the watchmen in our society; Lucy Clark, a chemist working on quantum materials. She will address Dr Manhattan and how he controls quantum states. Does he in fact follow the laws of physics?; and Samuel Pherson studies how social categories are used in everyday life and will talk about the psychology of vigilantes.
